Caetgory: Column
Precis: Bill O'Reilly, a respected columnist, in his column Solar Power to the People, claims that our government isn't doing a good job on tryng to be more green. He begins by explaining how Obama has wasted a lot of money trying to become more green and ends with interviewing a billionaire investor who says that he wouldn't invest in any of this because it;s not reliable and would not make profit. His purpose is to create awarness for people who want to become more green in order to show them that our government is not doing a good job of achieving that purpose. His intended audience is anyone who reads his columns and especially people who are wanting to become more green.
Personal Commentray: This was interesting because I never really knew that the government was trying to go green and how expensive it was.
Precis: Mary Sanchez, a respected columnist, in her column Jon Huntsman: a moderate Republican for immoderate times, implies that Huntsman would be a good candidate for presidency but he isn't well known to many people. She begins by explaining Huntsman's achievements and how well he would do as president and explains all of the perfect attributes he has and would bring to the Republican Party. Her prupose is to help promote Huntsman for presidency in order to get out government back in a good palce with a good president. Her intended audience is Republicans because she wants to show them how good of a president Huntsman would be and to help them get him recognized.
Personal Commentary: I am a Republican so reading this was really insightful. He seems like he would be a good president and if people knew more about him, he could possibly win.

Caetgory: Column
Precis: Bill O'Reilly, in his column Why Chris Chistine Matters, asserts that Christine is very good at wht he does, but still needs a little more practice before he becomes president. He begins by explaining our government state now, then explains New Jersey's executive problems and how well Christine has dealt wiith them, and ends with saying Christine could be a good president, but he is not ready yet. His purpose was to give people a heads up on the new Republicans emerging and to help Christine be recognized by more people in order to get people aware of the election coming up soon. His intedned audience is anyone who reads his columns and Republicans to keep a look out for the upcoming elections for Christine.
Personal Commentary: Again, I am a Republican so reading this was very helpful. He seems like he knows what he is doing, but I agree with O'Reilly, that he needs more experience. We don't want a president who doesn't know what they're doing. But I believe that he could one day be in thwe White House.
Precis: Mary Sanchez, in her column Texas is dealing with a failed immigration policy, claims that Texas is doing a good job trying to deal with a failed immigration system, and that Rick Perry will be able to get more followers on his side in another debate. She begins by explaing what Perry did wrong, but will have another moment to regain his confidence, then explains what Alabama is doing to keep illegal immigrants out of their state, by denying children an education, and ends with explaining that Perry and Texas are doing the best they can to keep the immigration policy under control. Her prupose is to help Perry by defending him and to help promote people to not be so rude to the immigrants and let the children be educated in order to show people how the children at least deserve an education. Her intended audience is anyone who reads her columns and Republicans, showing them that Perry knows what he is doing.
Personal Commentary: This column was interesting because she seemed really sympathetic to Perry, which I wasn't expecting to come from her.
Precis: Bill O'Reilly, a conservative, in his column Kids' Stuff, claims that kids these days do not get out at all anymore and are comsumed by technology. He explains this by telling a story of when he went to New Hampshire and hung out with seven children, trying to convince them to go outside on a hike and get fresh air. His purpose is to show how much kids are stuck at home, too involved in their technology to enjoy nature and appreciate what we have in order to promote people to get their kids out more so they aren't so attatched to their electronics. His intended audience is parents because he wants them to try and get their kids to go outside and play and have fun and enjoy nature.
Personal Commentary: This story is so true. Kids are so transfixed with technology and their electronics that we forget what a beautiful world we live in. We need to appreciate it more.
Precis: Mary Sanchez, a centrist, in her column Kids in some families face peril ever day - and not from kidnappers, claims that while the Irwin kidnapping was very sad and scary, people need to realize that families everywhere are faced with difficulties rasing children. She begins by explaining the Lisa Irwin incident, then moves on to say how our world is only concerned with what is on television and we need to be looking and helping the kids in our communities who need it. Her prupose is to promote people to help and look out for families who need help in their communities in order to reduce the amount of kids being hurt or in danger and end up on news shows. Her intended audience is everyone because everyone needs to be aware of this situation.
Personal Commentary: She was very straight-forward in this cloumn. This is a very serious topic and I agree with everything she said. Our communities need to become more aware and help out the children in danger.

Precis: Bill O'Reilly, in his column Are the Wall Street Protestors Us?, implies that the protestors don't really know what is going on in our government and that they just want what they want. He begins by explaing that types of people at the protests, then explains why our type of economic system is the best and why others that are not capitalistic have failed. His purpose is to show why our economic system works and that people need to do their research before that make big accusations in order to keep the government motivated to do better if we the people agree with their decisions. His intended audience is anyone who reads his columns and the protestors because they need to know that our economic system works well.
Personal Commentary: It's interesting to see how people react to different situations. And to see people who do not know what's going on and they still try to make a scene. America is doing the best is can and it will. hopefully, get better.
Precis: Mary Sanchez, in her column Protests are easy to mock now, but what about later?, asserts that the peole who are protesting in Kansas City are not doing an effective job. She begins by explaining how all of the people there do not have a common purpose and are not organized, and then explains that if they do get organized and have a common goal, then they would be more effective. Her purpose is to try and help the protestors become more organized and have a common goal in order to have an effective protest that will hopefully help them get a compromise to what they want. Her intended audience is the protestors and anyone who in the future could be apart of a protest to let them know that once they have a common goal and are organized, they will be effective.
Personal Commentary: This was kind of funny to read because if people do not have a common goal is it even a protest? I mean the people can stand outside somewhere or make posters, but they really aren't doing anything. I agree that if they come together, they will achieve their purpose.

Precis: Mary Sanchez, in her column If the deficit supercommittee fails, will anyone worry?, implies that the supercommittee isn't really looking our for the country, but just their political party.
